Set up Sotion from your AI assistant

Paste one prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or your coding agent, and it turns your Notion page into a Sotion site. Your only step is one click in the activation email we send you (or a Google sign-in on the finish page). Get the prompt at sotion.so/ai.

Before you start

You need a published Notion page and an email address you can open.

1. Open the page in Notion.

2. Click Share, then the Publish tab, then Publish.

3. Make sure anyone with the link can view the page without signing in.

4. Copy the link Notion shows. It usually ends in .notion.site. A link from Copy link (starting with app.notion.com) works too.

Sub-pages of a published page are published with it.

Set up your site

The prompt tells your assistant where our instructions are and gives it permission to send your email and Notion link to us.

1. Go to sotion.so/ai and add your Notion link and email. Both fields are optional; your assistant asks for anything you leave out.

2. Click Copy, or click Open in ChatGPT, Open in Claude or Open in Perplexity to start a chat with the prompt filled in. To skip the chat, click Finish setting it up here.

3. Answer your assistant's questions. It suggests a site name and an address, such as client-portal.sotion.site, and gives you a finish link if it can't create the site itself.

4. Open the activation email from Sotion (its subject starts with "Activate" and names your site) and click Activate site. The link works for 48 hours.

After the click we create your account and publish the site. You land on a page with your site's address and a link to your dashboard, where you add branding, a custom domain and member access.

The prompt on sotion.so/ai ends with a link that already holds your Notion link and email, so an assistant that can't open our instructions can hand it straight to you.

Use the Sotion connector

With the Sotion connector added, Claude and coding agents create your site from the chat and tell you when it's live. You still click the activation email, and the connector needs no sign-in or API key.

Claude

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, including Free, which allows one.

1. On sotion.so/ai, click Add to Claude. Claude's connector settings open with Sotion and its address filled in; confirm there to add it.

2. Start a new chat in Claude and paste the prompt from sotion.so/ai. Claude uses the connector to check your page and create the site request.

3. Click Activate site in the activation email. Claude checks the status and gives you your site's address once it's live.

To add the connector by hand, add a custom connector in Claude's settings with the URL https://api.sotion.so/mcp. There's nothing else to fill in.

Coding agents

Run the command for your agent, then paste the prompt as usual. For Cursor and VS Code, use the install buttons on sotion.so/ai.

Other apps

Any app that adds MCP connectors by URL can use https://api.sotion.so/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). In Perplexity, custom connectors need a paid plan and live under Settings, then Connectors.

What each assistant does

Every assistant gets you to a live site; the difference is how much happens inside the chat.

• Claude with the Sotion connector: Claude creates the site request itself, then tells you when the site is live after you click the email.

• Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents: the agent creates the site request itself, then waits while you click the email. It may ask for your permission before it runs a command.

• ChatGPT's desktop app and Perplexity's Computer mode: these can run commands too, so they create the site request themselves and you click one email.

• ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, and Claude without the connector, in a normal chat: the assistant gives you a finish link on sotion.so. There you choose Continue with Google or Email me the activation link.

Free trial

Your first site comes with a 7-day free trial of every feature, and no card is needed. Pick a plan in the dashboard to keep the site after that.

One free trial applies per email address and per Notion page. If yours already had one, the new site runs on the Basic limits for 7 days while you pick a plan, and we archive it after that if you don't. Resubscribing brings archived sites back.

Privacy: what gets sent where

The prompt contains your Notion link and your email. Your assistant sends both to us to create your account and send the activation email, and we don't share them.

The Open in buttons put the prompt, including your link and email, in the chat's web address. ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity receive it the same way as anything you type there. Leave the fields empty if you'd rather type them in the chat.

Troubleshooting

We never ask you for a password, a code or a card in this flow. If something asks for one, it isn't us: contact [email protected].
