Member Login Page
Visitors sign in on your member login page to open the pages you protect with Sign Up / Login, Invite Only or Paid (Stripe). They enter their email, and we email them a sign-in link and a 6-digit code. Either one signs them in.
Sign in with a code
The code lets a member finish signing in on the page they already have open. That helps on phones, where the mail app often opens links in its own browser, and on a site embedded in another page, where the link can't sign the member in.
After entering their email, the member sees the Email Sent state ("Check your email" unless you changed its heading), with a field for the code.
The code works once, for 10 minutes, and only in the browser where the member asked for it. The link works for 24 hours in any browser, for example on another device.
After 5 wrong tries the code stops working, and the member can click Send a new code on the same page.
To protect your members from guessing, the email carries only the link for a while when one address asks for many codes in a short time, or when many wrong codes are entered on your site.
There is nothing to turn on. The code field appears on the Email Sent state by itself, and the heading, subheading and button text you set for that state stay as they are.
More about customising your login page is coming soon.
